Chyler and I are very much night owls and that has not changed with having a baby. Luckily, we learned that Carson likes to watch TV. So in the mornings when he wakes up super early, I feed him and then he will watch cartoons in his chair until I am ready to get up. He is such a good baby. One night we were hanging out and Carson was busy watching TV on the couch and I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Movin' Up
When Carson was new, I was able to bathe him in his tub on my bathroom counter. It was easier for me to do that versus bending over the tub while I was still healing. As he got older and started kicking his legs, he started to get everything on my counter wet. Thus, he graduated to using his tub in my tub so it didn't matter how much he splashed. He still loves his baths.

Big Week
A couple weeks ago was a big week for Carson. Not only was it his first time being sick, he also sat up for the first time and rolled over. Starting with the sickness, he started coughing occasionally but it sounded like a fake cough so I didn't think anything of it other than it was really cute. A few days later it became more frequent and started sounding bad, then he started to get a runny nose. He is such a good baby even when he doesn't feel good that I didn't think it was that bad until he was up for most of the night. Then, I spoke to my sister Trina and she said her boys would cough when they had ear infections. So I took him into the doctor the next day and luckily it was just a cough and congestion. He took some cough medicine and was pretty clingy to me but other than that, he was a trooper.
On to more exciting news. Carson sat up for the first time on his own when we were heading to bed one night. For a long time now, he has been trying to pull himself forward when he was propped up on something so I knew it wouldn't be long before he was sitting up. What surprised me though was that he was more anxious to sit up than he was to roll over. Again, for a while now he has been rolling onto his sides when he lifts his legs up in the air. And he would occasionally rolled over if he was on a incline on the bed but I think that was just more accidental. His lack of desire wasn't for lack of trying on our part. We always put him on the floor and on his tummy but he would just fuss and fuss till we turned him over. I just figured he would do it when he was ready. So then, the next morning after sitting up, he rolled over like he had been doing it all along.

NINE HOURS
I just wanted to share that Carson and I both got NINE HOURS of uninterrupted sleep last night. Yep, he didn't wake up once until his 6:00am feeding. It was so amazing. I don't even remember the last night that I slept that well because I wasn't even sleeping through the night at the end of my pregnancy. Carson was sick last week so he was hardly sleeping at all during the night and of course moms, never catch up on their sleep so by yesterday, I was just miserable. So as soon as I put him down, I passed out. I am really hoping that this keeps up because for anyone who knows me well, knows that I love my sleep.
Also, I finally got a picture of Carson sleeping in his crib with his arms spread out like I talked about in the last sleeping post so I decided to show it now. He loves his crib, especially his mobile which is what the bottom two pictures are of.

Proud Wife
Since I basically only write about Carson, I wanted to give a little update on Chyler. His business Grease Away is growing but as many small business owners know, it takes a little while after your business grows that you actually get to see the profits. Because I quit my job to stay at home with Carson, Chyler got another job as a maintenance man for a property management company that manages stores, not to mention the side job he has as a plumber and handyman for family and friends. It works out really well because he doesn't have a set schedule with either business, he just works the jobs as they come in. His first job was at the Wet Seal and he called me wondering if I knew what it was. He asked, "is it some kind of Discovery or animal store?" I laughed pretty hard when I told him it was a girls clothing store.
But the reason I am writing is because he has only been working for the property management company for about three weeks and they called this week to say they just had a managers meeting with all the managers and the owner of the company and Chyler came up. Everyone was so impressed with him and the great work that he has been doing that they have moved him up to the number one man and they are going to be doubling the jobs they give to him. I am so proud of him and so grateful that he is such a hard worker.

Time to get up
A few weeks ago, I was burping Carson in bed after feeding him. Chyler was still sleeping and apparently that was not okay with Carson because he was just staring at him. Before long, he stating making "uh" noises at Chyler. This proceeded every few seconds until Chyler woke up to figure out what was going on. I was trying so hard not to laugh before Chyler woke up but it was so cute, even Chyler thought so after he woke up.

Finally Got 'em
After working so hard for so long, Carson finally got his feet into his mouth. Man, life is good for him. He loves having his legs in the air so I knew it was only a matter of time before he got a hold of them and even better, got them to his mouth which is his goal with anything he can get his hands on. The first time, he grabbed his feet was while Jodi was over helping me set up for a friend's baby shower on June 20th and he was just hanging out in his bouncy chair. I was so excited for him because he had been staring at them for a while. It is so fun watching he reach different milestones like this.
