First Weeks at Home

Since we came home in the midnight, Carson was already in bed.  But we must have woken him up because while I was sitting on my bed feeding Kade, Carson came waddling in and he was standing on the bed rail before he realized that I had the baby in my arms and he just looked down and got the saddest look on his face.  As if to say, "mom, you weren't supposed to bring him home."  He climbed into bed with us and just watched us, then he got off the bed to grab his monkey and got back in.  Then I put the baby in his bed while I got up to get ready for bed but I kept watching him from the bathroom.  First he got the bobby and put his monkey on it and then he got up to look at Kade and then he gave the monkey to the baby.  It was so sweet and I was so happy that he took to Kade so quickly.
The next morning Carson got to hold his baby brother for the first time
This is Kade sleeping, he always holds his hands in distinctive positions like this, I think it is so funny
Again with the hands

My sweet baby boy
I made Carson's two year doctor appointment at his 18 month and so I just made an appointment for the baby too since I was sure he would come a couple weeks before Carson's birthday.  But he didn't come then, so he was only 3 or 4 days old when we went in for his check-up and circumcision. Luckily my mom was still here to go in with Kade during the procedure.  But Carson happen to need the 2nd part of his flu shot and let me tell you, he was way worse the Kade.  With babies, they have no idea what is going on but with a 2 year old, they know that they shouldn't be hurting like that.  It was so sad.  This is on the way home after he fell asleep with his dumdum.
More brother time
Kaden's 1 week picture on my Grandma's chair

Carson always wants to hold him but here he is studying his umbilical cord
So ever since the first night, Carson has been treating Abu like his baby.  He steals the binkies to give to him and this night he was trying to wrap him up with the baby bath towel so I offered to help out. Notice how Carson always takes the cushion of the chair, then he uses it as a trampoline.
My little boys in their bouncies, this is one of the few times I have put Kade in the blue bouncie because Carson does not like to share it.
I switched them since it is easier for Carson to sit in the blue one but he wouldn't stop kissing Kade long enough for me to take a picture.
Carson being silly with his hat, he put it on like this and wore it around for a while

First off, I don't know how women had babies before doctors started to induce, bless them!!! The story of my pregnancy is that I thought I should be due on February 10th but after my first appointment, the doctor set the date of the 20th based on my ultra sound. But all along, I still thought of my date as the 10th so after I almost failed my glucose test, my doctor told me to plan on the 13th or 14th to be induced since he will probably be a big baby. So when I went in expecting to set the date, he said I wasn't ready but that he wouldn't let me go past the 20th. Then when I went it expecting to set the date for the 20th, he said I still wasn't ready. But not only did he say that I wasn't ready, he made is sound like I would have to be induced later on but will also have to go in the night before to have cervidal to soften the cervix (which I had to do with Carson) and that would be an additional $900 since we were paying cash. So basically, I bawled, I was so upset.
He told me to come back on Monday morning, the 22nd, and I went with my bags packed ready to go straight to the hospital. Finally, I was at 3cm so he sent me to the hospital. My mom stayed with me till Chyler was done with work. I checked in at noon and they started the pitocin at 12:30pm and everything was going really well and my nurse thought I would deliver before her shift was over at 7pm, she ever ordered me dinner. But after a few hours, I blood pressure dropped and they were worried that the babies would drop as well so they stopped the pitocin which stopped everything. It was so frustrating. Everyone kept predicting when he would come and he never did so I was about to punch everyone for continuing to predict.
My doctor arrived around 10pm I think but didn't come in till about an hour later then just stood there all annoyed so I was glad that it was in the middle of the night. I pushed for a while but not much happened so they stopped my epidural since they thought that was why he wasn't coming. So after 2 hours of hard pushing, he finally came out. I was at the last level for a long time and he just wouldn't come. Luckily he wasn't in any distress, just me. But I definitely felt that immense relief that people talk about when they have babies naturally. He was so swollen that he looked about 10 lbs, everyone in the room was shocked at how big he looked. And he kept his hands up at his mouth the whole time.
I was so glad that he finally arrived and man was I exhausted It looks like he is already smiling at his daddy He kept his legs straight out like this too, he was just as glad to be out and streach out After he came, I guess I wouldn't stop bleeding so they were focused on that instead of giving me food. But they would give me apple juice so I kept drinking that. By the time they moved us over to our new room, it was about 3am. Poor Chyler was so wiped out from working so hard that he passed out and I didn't want to wake him to help me. I was able to do everything in my bed like change his diaper and feed him but I wasn't able to put him back in his bed. Needless to say, I only got about 15 mins of sleep that night.
We totally missed Carson while we were in the hospital so I was so excited when he came to see us. But he was even hestitant to come to me and wouldn't go near the baby. This was him just sitting trying to figure everything out. They stayed for a couple of hours and he spent most of the time going on walks outside the room.
Grandma holding Kade and Presley. My mom arrived on the 15th thinking I would just be getting home from the hospital. It was still nice having her here to help before he arrived since I was so miserable. Also, I was really excited that Carson would be able to bond with her but she arrived with the toddler bed for Carson (which meant that he wouldn't be sleeping in mom and dad's room) and he knew something was up so he didn't bond as planned. Then to top it off, she was with me for the delivery while he was home with Britney so he attached himself to Britney instead of Grandma.
Since we were paying cash, we checked out at before midnight on the 23rd so we wouldn't risk being charged an additional day. But we were thrilled to go home, we are not fans of the hospital. Here is our little guy all ready to go home, notice how he still always has his hands up.

My Baby Boy is TWO

I can not believe that Carson is two years old. I was completely miserable by his birthday because I was still pregnant but as much as I wanted to deliver I refused to have him on Carson's birthday because they need their own days. Luckily Kaden at least gave me that. I had planned on having a party for Carson a few weeks after his birthday but we had such a good day we figured he was good with that.
I had planned to go to play group in the morning but Carson saw his car so we began to put it together instead with Carson's lead.

Then we headed over to McDonalds to play and Jodi and Presley met us there. We stayed for about 3 hours and Carson loved every minute of it but grandma was very sick of the hard benches by the end.

Grandma and Presley

Britney and Carson We tried several practice runs for blowing out the candles but none of them worked, Carson just stared at the fire. Maybe next year.

Check out my HUGE belly
This car came with a removable floor which Chyler put in and would push him all over the downstairs. Of course Carson loved it and would freak out when we took the insert out so he could move himself.

Britney is being silly again

Valentine's Day

Since Chyler works so hard for our family, I wanted to do something special for him for Valentine's day. So I planned to do something special every day starting the 1st till the big day. I didn't get to it every day as planned but I did most days. It was just little things like leaving notes and treats in his car, writing messages on the mirror, or leaving things are the counter for when he got home. It took him a while to figure it out that it was related to Valentine's Day but I think he appreciated it.
This is the only picture I took of the daily treats. He got home from work while I was upstairs and when I asked him if he saw it, he told me he ate only the hearts in case it was for someone else. He thinks he is so funny!
For his actually present, I made Chyler this cute book of pictures. Here are some of the pages.
This is what I woke up to. It was so sweet.

23 Months

This is the last month we were the parents of only one child and it seems I took a lot of pictures so brace yourselves. Carson was trying on Chyler's glasses but Chyler is so blind, Carson didn't know what to make of it. He kept shaking his head as if he were trying to make them focus.
So we gave him the sunglasses so he could actually see through them.
Don't ask me why but Britney decided to get into the tub with all of her clothes on. Carson got a big kick out of it.
Several months ago, Carson started climbing out of his crib so we were putting him in the office/guest room for a while but then we kept having visitors so we ended up putting him on the floor in our room. He LOVED it. Notice how we had to line all the sides because he would roll around during the night and end up on top of his blocks or under the bed. He wouldn't wake up to move he would just whine so I would have to focus my eyes enough to find him and put him back in bed.
Carson and Britney
Playing with bubbles with his friends. I love how much Sadie and Carson are laughing with their fists clinched.
This is on the way to church and he was all sorts of crabby. When he is mad at us, he puts his hand up to us and it drives me crazy.
We went to the park a ton this last month of pregnancy because I just had to do something to not think about being pregnant. I have tried so many times to get a picture of him with his cute beanie on but this is the closest I have gotten.
Once again, Carson is all into playing on the bouncies.
And again to the park to try to induce labor and let Carson play outside.
Our neighbor Valentina showed up and was playing shy and hiding under the toys but Carson wasn't having it so he went under there and took her hand to make her come out. It was so cute.
My handsome boys.
This is Valentine's day so it is 6 days before my due date but I was planning on being induced this weekend so I was not happy that I was going to church instead of in the hospital.
This picture is actually from November but I just got it from Britney so I had to post it. I love how much Carson loves his Presley. I don't know if I have mentioned it before but Presley was the first name that Carson ever said.

Carson playing chase with daddy, I just love his laugh.

Playing on his train with Britney, it's kind of dark but once again, his laugh is so fun I had to post it.
