Easter

Since Easter was on Conference weekend, we had to dress the boys up the week before so this is a week long post. I do love that I can match them and they look so handsome.
Such a little stud Yes, Chyler gave Carson a BBQ potato chip when I was trying to take pictures
Sorry, I can't resist putting in pictures of sleeping babies
On Friday I hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for our play group, we had a great turn out and it was tons of fun
All 3 moms were trying to get the kids to look at us but to no avail, I guess you can't interrupt a kid and his candy
Kade wasn't a big fan of being outside in the sun
While everyone else was checking out their eggs, Carson was still making the rounds looking for more, I love the determined look on his face
On Saturday, our community hosted a big Easter event across the street. I tried to get up early enough for the toddler egg hunt but we didn't make it in time. Why do they always have to assume all kids get up early cause mine sure doesn't
This is just Carson playing but he looks so cute and so dang old, notice I am finally able to do something to his hair. I can't do much besides putting a little palm ade in it to give it some texture I keep cutting it short to keep it looking thicker
On Sunday, Jason's family came over for dinner and then we went across to the park to launch rockets. My nephews always bring fun toys over to use at the park
Savanah and Carson always play so well together. This is the first day I put him in shorts but it was still way cold because of the wind so his nose was running the whole time

Kaden is 1 Month

Carson LOVES his baby brother and kisses him all the time. Kade is a good sport about it but you can tell he doesn't like it when Carson gets up in his face all the time cause its a little overwhelming. These are some fun pictures I took one morning and I love how they turned out against the red sheets. I wanted to get one of Carson behind Kaden but he was too busy trying to be a puffin on Go Diego Go. It was really cute, I almost wasn't mad he wasn't cooperating. Kade's 1 month pictures Since I am the bulletin board specialist for church, I was taking pictures of the Relief Society Birthday party and so I grabbed one of me and Kade Carson always wears our shoes all over the house, this is him wearing my slippers and reading his book, I can't believe how old he is getting C always climbs up next to me in bed and puts the burp cloth across his chest and puts his arms out and says "hold?" Ususally Kade is sleeping so I don't want to wake him, but it is so cute, I can't tell him no. This time he held Kade for a while, patting his back the whole time.

C loves to sing and he does it all the time. If is so funny because he doesn't say all the words but he trys his hardest. One day we were driving somewhere and Chyler and I were talking up front, soon we realized that Carson was shushing us so he could sign along to the music. He got this little truck at his cousin's birthday party and he carries it all over the house singing, I have tried so many times to get it on camera but he always stops singing so this is all I got. He still climbs in the swings all the time and still loves being without clothing, I promise I do get him dressed!!

Special Weekend

My sister Jodi and her husband Patrick received their endowments and were sealed together and to Presley in March.  It was so amazing to have my parents and all 8 kids together in the temple.  And Presley looked so adorable in her white dress.
Since everyone would be here, we decided to bless Kaden too.
Our first non-hospital family picture.  After a whole weekend of running around with his cousins and very little sleep, Carson would not sit still so this is the best we could do.  I love my boys.

Look-a-likes

Carson loves helping out especially when I bathe him, if I don't give him his own wash cloth he will get a dirty one out and try to wash him.

I pulled up Carson's baby pictures one night so I could see how much they look a like and Chyler kept guessing wrong.  I love how they have the same expression in their bath pictures with their fat cheeks.

Carson's head was more round and he has a smaller mouth than Kade but you can definitely tell they are brothers

This winter was a lot warmer than when Carson was born so I didn't stress as much about Kade being cold.  And it's a good thing because Kade does not like to be swaddled, he always wants his hands free so if I do swaddle him, I have to do it with his elbows bent so his hands are by his face.

First Weeks at Home

Since we came home in the midnight, Carson was already in bed.  But we must have woken him up because while I was sitting on my bed feeding Kade, Carson came waddling in and he was standing on the bed rail before he realized that I had the baby in my arms and he just looked down and got the saddest look on his face.  As if to say, "mom, you weren't supposed to bring him home."  He climbed into bed with us and just watched us, then he got off the bed to grab his monkey and got back in.  Then I put the baby in his bed while I got up to get ready for bed but I kept watching him from the bathroom.  First he got the bobby and put his monkey on it and then he got up to look at Kade and then he gave the monkey to the baby.  It was so sweet and I was so happy that he took to Kade so quickly.
The next morning Carson got to hold his baby brother for the first time
This is Kade sleeping, he always holds his hands in distinctive positions like this, I think it is so funny
Again with the hands

My sweet baby boy
I made Carson's two year doctor appointment at his 18 month and so I just made an appointment for the baby too since I was sure he would come a couple weeks before Carson's birthday.  But he didn't come then, so he was only 3 or 4 days old when we went in for his check-up and circumcision. Luckily my mom was still here to go in with Kade during the procedure.  But Carson happen to need the 2nd part of his flu shot and let me tell you, he was way worse the Kade.  With babies, they have no idea what is going on but with a 2 year old, they know that they shouldn't be hurting like that.  It was so sad.  This is on the way home after he fell asleep with his dumdum.
More brother time
Kaden's 1 week picture on my Grandma's chair

Carson always wants to hold him but here he is studying his umbilical cord
So ever since the first night, Carson has been treating Abu like his baby.  He steals the binkies to give to him and this night he was trying to wrap him up with the baby bath towel so I offered to help out. Notice how Carson always takes the cushion of the chair, then he uses it as a trampoline.
My little boys in their bouncies, this is one of the few times I have put Kade in the blue bouncie because Carson does not like to share it.
I switched them since it is easier for Carson to sit in the blue one but he wouldn't stop kissing Kade long enough for me to take a picture.
Carson being silly with his hat, he put it on like this and wore it around for a while

First off, I don't know how women had babies before doctors started to induce, bless them!!! The story of my pregnancy is that I thought I should be due on February 10th but after my first appointment, the doctor set the date of the 20th based on my ultra sound. But all along, I still thought of my date as the 10th so after I almost failed my glucose test, my doctor told me to plan on the 13th or 14th to be induced since he will probably be a big baby. So when I went in expecting to set the date, he said I wasn't ready but that he wouldn't let me go past the 20th. Then when I went it expecting to set the date for the 20th, he said I still wasn't ready. But not only did he say that I wasn't ready, he made is sound like I would have to be induced later on but will also have to go in the night before to have cervidal to soften the cervix (which I had to do with Carson) and that would be an additional $900 since we were paying cash. So basically, I bawled, I was so upset.
He told me to come back on Monday morning, the 22nd, and I went with my bags packed ready to go straight to the hospital. Finally, I was at 3cm so he sent me to the hospital. My mom stayed with me till Chyler was done with work. I checked in at noon and they started the pitocin at 12:30pm and everything was going really well and my nurse thought I would deliver before her shift was over at 7pm, she ever ordered me dinner. But after a few hours, I blood pressure dropped and they were worried that the babies would drop as well so they stopped the pitocin which stopped everything. It was so frustrating. Everyone kept predicting when he would come and he never did so I was about to punch everyone for continuing to predict.
My doctor arrived around 10pm I think but didn't come in till about an hour later then just stood there all annoyed so I was glad that it was in the middle of the night. I pushed for a while but not much happened so they stopped my epidural since they thought that was why he wasn't coming. So after 2 hours of hard pushing, he finally came out. I was at the last level for a long time and he just wouldn't come. Luckily he wasn't in any distress, just me. But I definitely felt that immense relief that people talk about when they have babies naturally. He was so swollen that he looked about 10 lbs, everyone in the room was shocked at how big he looked. And he kept his hands up at his mouth the whole time.
I was so glad that he finally arrived and man was I exhausted It looks like he is already smiling at his daddy He kept his legs straight out like this too, he was just as glad to be out and streach out After he came, I guess I wouldn't stop bleeding so they were focused on that instead of giving me food. But they would give me apple juice so I kept drinking that. By the time they moved us over to our new room, it was about 3am. Poor Chyler was so wiped out from working so hard that he passed out and I didn't want to wake him to help me. I was able to do everything in my bed like change his diaper and feed him but I wasn't able to put him back in his bed. Needless to say, I only got about 15 mins of sleep that night.
We totally missed Carson while we were in the hospital so I was so excited when he came to see us. But he was even hestitant to come to me and wouldn't go near the baby. This was him just sitting trying to figure everything out. They stayed for a couple of hours and he spent most of the time going on walks outside the room.
Grandma holding Kade and Presley. My mom arrived on the 15th thinking I would just be getting home from the hospital. It was still nice having her here to help before he arrived since I was so miserable. Also, I was really excited that Carson would be able to bond with her but she arrived with the toddler bed for Carson (which meant that he wouldn't be sleeping in mom and dad's room) and he knew something was up so he didn't bond as planned. Then to top it off, she was with me for the delivery while he was home with Britney so he attached himself to Britney instead of Grandma.
Since we were paying cash, we checked out at before midnight on the 23rd so we wouldn't risk being charged an additional day. But we were thrilled to go home, we are not fans of the hospital. Here is our little guy all ready to go home, notice how he still always has his hands up.
